It began with a need: a piece of equipment capable of handling a very specific application at Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) Airport. The answer was the Allen 255CD Triple Roller Tube Paver. Born and raised a Texan, Bill Colley grew up in the concrete industry surrounded by big equipment. From vibratory screeds to slip form pavers, there is very little he hasn’t seen. Yet for all of the experience, he had never used a piece of Allen Equipment.'
So when he called Ram Tool in Dallas inquiring about equipment to meet his specific requirements, he was passed on to Allen Territory Sales Representative Kyle Baker. And Kyle found himself impressed with how thorough Bill was to find this new piece to the puzzle. "He did his research and went the extra mile to make sure this machine was just what he needed," Baker said.
Taking place at the DFW Airport, the project was a taxiway construction. At first, Baker tried to steer Colley toward the RS844 paver with augers. However, after learning that the slump was 1-2", he knew that Colley and his employer, Haydon Building Corporation, needed a machine that could handle a slump that low. "It was a lengthy process", Colley said. "I would say it took close to three months before we decided on the Triple Roller Tube Paver." And with the decision in hand, it was time for Allen to deliver – and deliver, they certainly did. "I was thoroughly impressed with the machine", Colley said. "It exceeded all my expectations." And the entire team came through, from Baker and the service team, all the way up to Allen Engineering Founder and CEO, Dewayne Allen. "The service was top notch. Kyle did a great job and Mr. Allen impressed me with how confident he was in this machine", Colley said. "They made sure everything went the way it should on the jobsite."
Thanks to Haydon Building Corporation and Bill Colley for the business and support! Here’s to a bright and successful collaboration together!
